Sometimes you can dress’em up – but you can’t take ’em to town!
Below was a post from several years ago (forgive the quality of the pics please) and today Jesse James got his grooming done and he looked so cute, it reminded me of this long ago post.
So today I wanted to share with you his thoughts and comments on dressing up!
Today is National Dress Up Your Pet Day!
I believe Jesse James thought about being a good sport and trying on a few things for me….but now, I am not so sure… of his being a good sport, I mean….I will let you be the judge. I have learned to understand “dog speak” so these are his words regarding his National Dress Up Your Pet Day!

Jesse James’ Tub, I mean Closet!
Notice the Kansas Jayhawk on the side. Rock Chalk Jayhawk! I love that dog! He knows where his bread is buttered.
Jesse Speaks: “Wait! I don’t have anything to wear”!
“See??? Nothing! Nothing! I tell you!”
“I hate all this “stuff”….
“I hated this dragon costume on Halloween and I hate it even more now!”
“No…this is for Christmas and in case you haven’t noticed, Christmas is over! I don’t even want to look in a mirror. In fact, I don’t want to look at you right now, and you can’t make me.”
“Argyle Sweater? Seriously? Did you forget we live in Florida? “
“What don’t you understand about sweaters and hot Sun?”
“Black is slimming right? Ohhhh No, this close up reminds me,…make an appointment with my dentist! Do I have to do everything? I keep my eyes clean of the black gunk for you, but haven’t mastered the toothbrush … yet.”
“Take it off…take it off…it is too tight! It is the furry hair you know, I am certainly not fat, I’m just fluffy!”
“NO HATS! I have never looked good in a hat!”
“Well, if I cock my head, it ain’t too bad, I guess….but look! My hair is getting mussed, you know I don’t like wet feet and messy hair!”
“Yes! Yes! Yes! Scarves are always in…let me twirl around and you take a pic..OK?”
“Yes, Red is definitely my color!….I will wear the red one!”
“On second thought, I have a closet full of scarves! I get a new one each time the groomer comes! Is a scarf considered dressing up?”
“No????? “
“Ok then, forget it! I’m outta here!!!”
“I’m gonna go play with my little green frog!”
“Oh, and would you mind putting my clothes back in the tub, I mean closet? I feel a nap coming on! ”
Update from Jesse:
“I love Christine my groomer…she keeps all that long hair off of me so I will be cooler. She also put a pretty gold bow on me for this Christmas!”
“I didn’t even mind her putting antlers and ears on me for a pic in her mobile grooming van!”

Your Jesse is a prize. How good of him to let you dress him up! What a fella. I love the
one with his scarf (the red ones). Red is his color. Loved all the photos. Or maybe because
