It Is A Link Party!!!! Celebrate Your Story #144

Fall Decorating

Link Party

Wow! I don’t know about you but, as slow and simmering as Summer has been, we are all of a sudden popping into Fall and Autumn without so much as a fare-thee-well!

To show you how busy I have been, I will share with you a few projects I am working on.

  • I have been bringing out my Fall decor a little at a time, (now)
  • preparing for a Hawaiian Luau for our church group (7 September),
  • sorting through boxes of Christmas ‘stuff” that I ordered on-line (current and past)
  • and getting the guest room ready for family and friends coming on the 14th of Sept.

Whew!

You might ask why I have not “sorted” through the boxes of Christmas stuff as they come to my door and I will tell you that it is easier to take a black marker and mark on the box what is inside and then store it until I am ready for it to come forth from the dark recesses of the cardboard boxes and tape.

True, I might have a boo-boo or two, but for as long as I have been ordering on-line, (which is like forever)…I have never had to return ANYTHING.

I know, right?

What are the odds?

Perhaps one day that will come back and bite me, but the companies I deal with are very easy to work with and so far, no complaints.

So this leads me to one more endeavor I have taken on.

A Weekly Link Party!!! What Fun!

I have joined my sweet friend Chloe Crabtree of Celebrate and Decorate and the wonderful author and maker of Sweet Sensations, (yummy) Sandra Garth, for a link party that we hold each week.

What this means for those who don’t know is: we provide a weekly place or venue for anyone who wants to showcase a recipe or tablescape or gardening or DIY.

It is called….

For example here are a few links from last week that Chloe, Sandra and I would like to spotlight.

Link Party

The first highlighted selection is mine….and it is from Penny’s Vintage Home, particularly her “Fall Mantel.”

Perhaps I have a soft spot in my heart for New Mexico.

Perhaps I have a soft spot in my heart for pink.

It just so happens that Penny hails from the Southeast part of New Mexico AND Penny also loves pink!

So for whatever reason one chooses, Penny definitely has the romantic shabby/chic going with her blog and her mantel reflects her style and taste for all of the above.

The second selection comes from Sandra and she chose Debbee’s Buzz… Breakfast at Tiffany Theme Brunch. I loved this when Debbee first featured it last year on Susan’s Blog,… so much so that I have been planning, (read buying this and that) to make the Breakfast at Tiffany brunch a brunch for a few of my special lady friends. Stay tuned, more to come.

And Chloe’s selection is How to make a fall banner using tea towels from Faeries & Fauna. Wow! Leanna has shown us how to make the most adorable banner that will pretty much go anywhere. in your home.  The little foxes are so cute, and the tutorial is so easy to follow.

But the post that received the most clicks from all the entries last week, is from Pam at Everyday Living., titled Autumn Therapy  So beautiful to watch the colors literally changing almost before your eyes. Pam is such an inspiration with all her lovely photos.

Would you like to join our link party?

It is easy!

Well, my dear readers….Have a safe and fun week, tomorrow I have a delicious oatmeal raisin cookie recipe to share that screams Fall.

Perhaps screams is not the correct word…how about quietly says, drink milk and eat an oatmeal raisin cookie.

  2. Kari, I’m really looking forward to your creative spin on the Breakfast at Tiffany’s theme for your party. Of the four My Favorite Things Parties I’ve held so far, it’s definitely my favorite theme. The ladies loved dressing up in little black dresses, the photo booth, the pearl games, etc. Of course when you are serving champagne all afternoon…LOL!
