What do Motorhomes, Autumn and Pumpkins Have in Common? Everything when you are having an extended, campground entertaining, vacation stay in the Midwest.
My friends we are still visiting family and friends and enjoying all of it while living out of a 44 foot motorhome….and yes we pull a jeep behind it so we can have a way to drive around once we arrive at our destination. Some have said how do you live in such small quarters but it really isn’t that small as it has a full bath and a half, (yay, hers and his) a living room, kitchen, dining, bedroom and if needed a sleeper sofa. Our fridge is a full size residential fridge. We also have 3 large TV’s, two inside and one built into the outside as well and a washer and dryer and a gas fireplace. All the comforts of home. Even though we are not as large as a home, with over 500 sq feet we are about the size of a small apartment with the four slide outs. However I do confess that after being out on the road for months at a time…when I walk into our home in Florida, our home seems huge. LOL
The Captain did fly home to Florida for reassurance that Hurricane Helene would stay in the Gulf of Mexico, but we were saddened to see it make landfall much further north and do so much damage and take so many lives. Our prayers and thoughts go out to all involved as we know the pain of direct hits when we experienced Ian and Irma.
Someone might say how do you set a tablescape while traveling in a motorhome and it really is pretty easy.
I do have melamine dishes and flatware in the motorhome but I chose to use paper plates for my tablescape.
It also helps that the campground decorated for Halloween altho the decor was on the other side of the campground.
I would not want this decor any closer to us…LOL as I like our Campground Entertaining to be a little less scary.
Personally I like to keep things things a little lighter such as the flower pics below….LOL
and the Buffalo.
One can not be in the midwest and not see buffalo.
These Bisons were across a road and directly behind our motorhome as you can see in the photo below.
And at last a few photos of my tablescape, using the existing picnic table in and among the cottonwood trees and their falling leaves.
This is the fun of Campground Entertaining.
I used a tablecloth featuring everything Fall, right down to the old orange pick-up truck.
This small amber lantern fit well in the rattan basket filled with Fall leaves, acorns and a few pumpkins and squash.
I even tossed in a few pinecones I found at the botton of a few pine trees.
This jack-o-lantern has a happy smile.
The paper napkins and cups match the pumpkin dinner plate and pumpkin dessert plate.
The dinner plate will hold air fryer hot dogs, chips and dips while the dessert plates will have smore’s from the firepit.
I like to use the air fryer for the hot dogs because they taste like they have been roasted over a fire ….less mess, because I put the hot dogs (slit in a few places) in the air fryer for about 4 minutes at 400 and then put the dogs in a bun and place the whole thing back in the air fryer for about 2-3 minutes and they taste like they were roasted and toasted. So yummy.
Blessings Always
Isaiah 41:10: So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
More Autumn fun below and thank you Rita for all your hard work.

Kari, the skeleton crew at your campground is fabulous and a perfect backdrop for your table! I love the mix of fall colors and textures on the table, and to be able to set it al fresco is wonderful. Hope you receive good news about your home so that you can relax and enjoy your trip.
Kari, how nice of you to join us while on the road!! Your camper sounds like quite the luxury digs. Your campground sounds like a fun place to be at Halloween and your picnic table setting is a delight. Nothing better than s’mores around a campfire!!! I pray that your house is safe from Milton, stay safe out on the road! 🧡🖤
Kari, I am relieved you are safe. I pray your home survives this awful hurricane. Prayers for everyone who has been affected by these hurricanes. Kari so glad you are safe! Your campgrounds really get into Halloween don’t they? Creepy creatures mixed with cute Halloween decor. Your fall tablescape is simple and lovely. I love that you are ready to set a table on the road!
Kari, I am so glad that you are safe and I hope your home survives Milton. Your new motorhome looks fabulous and how cool is it that the campground decorated for Halloween? I love your campground tablescape and it looks perfect on the picnic table. There’s nothing better than paper when you are camping I say. Hot dogs, chips, and smores sound delicious and thank you for the tip on cooking hot dogs in the air fryer – they sound yummy. Hope you and your family enjoy your time together and sending prayers for all those impacted by Helene and now Milton. Take care.
Kari, first of all, I am glad to know you’re not home; however, I hope your home will remain intact and not suffer the likes (or worse) than Ian.
What a cute setup for a tablescape, and all the Halloween decorating already handled by the hosting campground! I must say, the skellie crew is pretty impressive, especially the lead man dragging the truck full.
The littles around the fire pit are a hoot. Looks like they overstayed their time, lol. They should’ve eaten more buffalo!
Have fun on your travels, and thanks for taking time to share your motoring table time with us on this hop!
Your RV looks beautiful and it does sound very comfortable! That is fun that the RV park is decorated for Halloween! Your picnic table set for Halloween and Fall looks great, and I’m all for cute paper plates for easy clean up. Your air fryer hot dogs sound delicious! I am heart broken over all the damage and loss from Helene, and so thankful that you are safely away from your Florida home. I will be praying for all of Florida as Hurricane Milton approaches…it’s so scary, I will pray your house will survive.

Kari, I love that you did a Halloween table while traveling! It is cute and perfect for a campground! Your motor home sounds fantastic and very roomy! I am praying for Florida and for the safety of everyone and I am including your beautiful home! Blessings always, sweet friend 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Hi Kari, how many feet long is your motor home? It seems huge and amazing.Love the decorations and the decorations in the park. First Sanibel, then Ft Myers, and here we are again. I have been here 50 years and what is happening with this hurricane is scary. Slam and straight across. My least favorite words after hurricane are “outter wind bands” I was so hoping with lower temps, it would “shrink”
Keep praying for us all.
Myrna it is about 44 feet long. We watched the hurricane on our cameras situated around our home until we lost electricity about 11-ish last night. We live in the SW Cape. Our neighbor said our solar panels survived and we did not have any storm surge so we are definitely happy campers today. I hope you are safe and sound. Tampa’s stadium was serving as a shelter and lost a lot of it’s dome…Looked like toilet paper hanging from the frame. Prayers for no loss of lives as material things can be replaced. Prayers fo all of Florida. Be safe.
Kari, I’m amazed at all the amenities and how roomy your RV sounds! I love that you set a picnic table at the campground! I also enjoyed seeing the Halloween decorations including the truck and skellies. I’ve been thinking about you as Hurricane Milton is bearing down on Florida. I’m sure you’re glad you’re safely away travelling but know you will be anxious about the status of your home. We’ve been heartsick over the devastation after Hurricane Helene left a 500-mile trail of destruction from the Florida’s Gulf Coast to the mountains of western North Carolina. Our beloved NC mountains will be in recovery mode, digging out and trying to restore services and water for many months to come. We’re so grateful for Samaritan’s Purse that will be helping with aid and the recovery in Florida after Milton. Please know you’re in my thoughts and prayers. Wishing you a Happy October and safe travels. ♥
I love that you travel with your Halloween decor: Your table is darling! I hope everything will be okay at your home for Hurricane Milton. Safe travels!
It was fun Ricki setting the table while the squirrels were trying to fetch the faux acorns…and thanks for your concern over Hurricane Milton.
Kari, Thinking of you and I’m so glad you’re safe and dry! How fun to create a table at the campground and you did a wonderful job! Have a lovely October, Cecilia @ My Thrift Store Addiction
you are so kind…and yes we are safe although our home may not fare so well!! It is fun to come camping AND do a tablescape for all the family to enjoy. 🍁🧡
I applaud you for creating fun tables while out on the road. It makes life so much more fun! Kari, I’m grateful you are safe, and pray that your home and all those in harm’s way will survive this next storm. I grew up on the TX Gulf, so hurricanes are a part of my childhood history. It’s frightening.
Continue to enjoy your road trip and keep setting fun tables.
Sarah, It was so much fun setting the table and it inspired lots of conversations from fellow campers (especially those I didn’t even know)….we also had to laugh at the sweet little birds who wanted to leave a deposit between camera shots.
Good Afternoon Kari!
I adored your “On The Road Again Halloween Table!”
You are creative even if you are away from home.
Glad all went okay with Helene. Praying you get through Milton as well.
Thanks for the Air Fryer hotdog tip! Yum!
We can definitely use prayers for Milton…it looks like it is going to encompass all of Florida. I love using my air fryer for hot dogs now and many more foods…It is the best. Hugs 🍁🧡🍂🎃
Hi Kari,
So glad to hear from you. I was just getting on the computer to write you a note asking if you and The Captain were okay. So glad you’re in the Midwest where it’s dry. Another friend of mine is in Colorado so she’s safe too. I have friends in North Carolina that I haven’t been able to get in touch with them.
Your blog was lovely as always.
Take care, my friend.
Love you,
Sandy
thanks Sandy….we are having such fun with family but those silly hurricanes keep wanting to join the party. LOL We are keeping an eye out for our home…we have cameras everywhere. Hugs luv ya
Sounds like you are having an awesome road trip. Your stop is wonderfully decorated for Halloween with impressive ghoulish neighbors. Love that you are doing themed dinners while on the road. The tablecloth is a great Fall/Halloween way to set the scene. Pumpkins are always great for the season and the textured Jack-o-lantern is a great addition to the table. Hope you stay safe on your journey. Have a great Halloween.
Lynne
thank you Lynne…I just hope the hurricanes stop coming…we have lived in Florida some 15 years and have more hurricanes in the last 3 years than all the years we have lived here. Have a great day
Hi Kari! So glad you and the Captain are safe and on the road. Been worried about your house. (AGAIN!!). Stay safe, enjoy the road and as always, your settings are stunning. (Even if they are paper) and your ‘neighbor decorations’ are hilarious!
Stay safe and keep singing!
Pat Hill
….Right now I am singing row row row your boat…..LOL thanks for stopping by my friend.
Very cool. I love it.
thank you Rebecca! Have a great day.
