World Series…Best of Seven!
I would be remiss if I didn’t give you the scoop on what is happening with my beloved Royals Baseball team in this World Series!
I am sure many of you are already aware of the World Series as game 6 starts tonight.
There are 7 games played and the team winning the most games of the 7 win the World Series.
The first two games were played in Kansas City and the Royals won 1 game and the Giants won one game.
So it was tied 1-1.
Then there was a day of flying as the teams went to San Francisco to play 3 more games. The Royals won one game and the Giants won 2 games.
Now, the standings are Royals, 2 games and Giants 3 games.
Again there was a flying day on Monday and tonite…Tuesday, game 6 will be played and IF the Royals win, they will also play game 7 on Wednesday.
However, if the Giants win tonight…the World Series is all over for 2014 as they will have won 4 games…no need to play the other game.
But I have faith in this young baseball team and I am hoping history will repeat itself.
In 1985…the Royals were in the same situation with two games left to play and they were down by 1 game (3-2) with the same stats as this night.
But the Royals did the unthinkable and won the last two games….winning the World Series against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Sandy says
Kari, I heard talk that they plan to go ahead with the parade. Not sure though.

Kari,
What a series! I have to admit, I’ve never been that much of a Royals fan, but I’ll tell you what,
those “Boys in Blue” have indeed won my heart.
Talk about kids, (yes, I can call them kids) who played with so much heart.
They’ve not taken themselves ‘seriously’ as to become pompous as a LOT of ballplayers do.
They have MANNERS!!
They are well spoken and had nothing but kindness to say of their opponents.
While S.F. burned last night, gun shots fired, I DO NOT BELIEVE that the people of
Kansas City would have reacted the same way. THIS is the attitude of the people that
this team has inspired.
Everyone here in town was/IS over the moon about this team.
So am I.
(and that’s coming from someone born on the west coast and grew up watching the Giants!)
Kari says
I agree….it was interesting to note that many of the sports analysts today seem to think that this series will be more remembered… as the Royals rose above all the odds and did a number one class act. They also said that years from now…many people might remember the Royals winning the series…..they were that memorable!
I think Kansas City ought to have a parade anyway to celebrate this great young team who gave it their all.
I still say…
Go Royals!
Me 🙂
Sandy says
Go Royals is right, Kari.
Oh yeah, Rock Chalk Jayhawk! I’m a fan of theirs, too.
I would like to see the Chiefs make the playoffs, but I’m not a fan of football. It’s too dangerous a sport. Charles is always excellent.
Kari says
You know Sandy, the last 15 play-off games have been exciting …and I can’t wait for tonight’s game. Go Royals!
BUT the Kansas Jayhawks had a wonderful 60th celebration of Allen Fieldhouse on Monday evening as they gear up for the college basketball season. Roy Williams, Larry Brown and Ted Owens joined Bill Self as guests…..Talk about basketball history! Looking forward to a great year with the Jayhawks! Rock Chalk Jayhawk! 😉
And the Chiefs are showing promise….play-offs for them? Lets hope so. Jamal Charles is really playing to his potential this year! Andy Reid has coached them well. Go Chiefs!
Me :):):):):)

Sandy, That was a really good game last night….10-0….such a booster being with the home crowd and playing so well.
It might be time to replace of few of my faded Royals T-shirts(I have worn and washed them so many times) with a World Series Shirt!
thanks for stopping by

It was an exciting game, Kari, but it’s going to be even more exciting tonight. I can’t wait. I almost feel sorry for the Giants.
Sandy says
Yay! The Royals won, Kari. Like you, win or lose I love those guys. They are such great guys. There is no doubt in my mind that they’ll win tomorrow night.
