My friends….the leaves are starting to fall in my Florida yard!
True!
Pinky Swear!
No, not the palm fronds, but the leaves of my Shady Lady Olive tree.
Actually, it is almost a continual process all year long, I am always using the grass blower to rid my foyer of those little leaves.
When I was sitting out the dishes and items to use in this tablescape…
….I was reflecting on Autumn, most likely because the placemats were a collection of fall leaves in various oranges, reds, yellow and brown.
I found the placemats last year at Pier 1 and fell in love with them.
I knew I had to use them in a tablescape.
The leaves reminded me of gathering colorful leaves as a child and how much I loved and admired the different shapes and colors.
I added faux sunflowers, orange gerbera and mums in and about the various sized vases.
The dinner plate is a rust color and the green cabbage Majolica salad plates are a reminder that the Fall harvest will soon be here.
I also brought out the copper mule cups because it highlighted the color of the placemat leaves.
I used a brown stemmed goblet for water glasses and the colorful autumn leaf napkins have bittersweet napkin rings…with a autumn leaf or two tucked in.
The flatware I have had for more years than I care to remember and the orange brightens the rustic tablescape.
The soup bowl…you just have to have a soup bowl for a Fall tablescape…is also a rust colored bowl shaped like a leaf.
On the ends of the table I placed leaf plates with orange cheese knives.
Now, I am going to make time for myself.
I have fresh apples sitting on my counter which say Fall is here.
I have an apple cake in the oven and the aroma is inviting me to grab my tea pot and set up a little tray to enjoy all my endeavors with my Autumn tablescape.
I’ll be having the warm apple cake with my cuppa for an afternoon treat.
A quiet little time to sit back and appreciate the season called Autumn.
Blessings and Have a wonderful Day!

Kari, you table is absolutely gorgeous! I wish we could have a few Fall leave here in Florida. Like you, I’m just getting the fallen ficus leaves or a palm frond down in my yard. That apple cake sounds delicious! Looking for recipes now. 🙂
