A Give Thanks Vignette!
Even though Thanksgiving is still a couple months away, Fall and Autumn remind me of the pilgrims and our founding Fathers.
As the new season begins, I think of the hardships that they all endured for months before the actual Thanksgiving.
And yet they did Give Thanks, which was the inspiration for this Give Thanks vignette.
So much fun to set up and using a tray or small table makes putting Fall or any kind of like items together.
I love using old tablecloths but this table cloth I found in the mark-down items at Bed Bath & Beyond.
Using the 20 percent off coupon made it only pennies.
The large lanterns usually sit out in the outside foyer along with bales of hay and pumpkins greeting my little trick or treaters or guests.
I used raffia bows and placed the lanterns along side the small round table.
The basket of apples I used in another vignette along with a delicious apple pie recipe.
For the top of the table, a few ears of Indian corn join three little pumpkins.
If you use an odd number of items, it is more pleasing to the eye.
The sign “In all Things Give Thanks” rounds out the vignette.
I love signs and I believe they make a vignette or a wall look welcoming….and it expresses how I really feel.
Our Farmers Market had real pumpkins and I placed three of them near the lanterns.
Using the galvanized pitcher is always fun and you have seen it in other vignettes.
In the evening, the lanterns come on and they give off a glow that is inviting.
I could have used a tray to corral all the items, but on this particular vignette, I scattered the pumpkins and corn around the top.
And it works.
