Celebrate Your Story!
Every Monday, I start to sing the song Celebrate! Celebrate! because I know it is time for another “Celebrate Your Story” Link Party and my feature post is all about food and why not as it is Thanksgiving month and food is the topic on most people’s mind.
I have to tell you that I am anxious to begin my planning for my Thanksgiving dinner even though it will most likely include all our favorites from years gone by.
You know the old saying…if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it….and it just wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without our old favorites.
However, I am making an adjust on one of my favorites, which is sweet potatoes, and I will share that with you soon.
We usually invite friends and neighbors who don’t have family close by and a few sno-birds too.
And then we relax on Friday.
None of that crazy shopping for me…no way do I want to be a part of the pushing and shoving and fighting over a paisley scarf or a big screen TV. LOL
I do all my shopping online and all I have to do is wrap, pack and ship.
The Captain and I have already made plans to do what we always do on Black Friday and that is to cuddle by the fireplace and watch old movies.
Sigh! So now let’s get started with our favorites from last week’s link party.
Chloe, Sandra and myself have picked some real winners so be sure to check them out please.
The features from last week’s entries are:
These apple fritters are definitely calling my name, Next to maple long johns, they are always my next pick at the donut shop or bakery when I decide to splurge.
Don’t these look scrumptious?
Carol at the Red Painted Cottage gave us a tour of the Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park. I love the waterfalls and the beautiful fall foliage.
And then Michelle at Our Crafty Mom shows us how to make a buffalo checked mason jar. I really like buffalo check and I have a big shirt that is black and white and I always get compliments on it when I wear it. By the way, this was the most clicked on post at our Link party.
And look at this chocolate pound cake recipe from Shirley at Intelligent Domestications.
Oh my goodness, doesn’t that look delish?
This would also be a good recipe for Valentines Day…yummy!
I am going to have to add this recipe to my recipe file as who doesn’t love chocolate and maraschino cherries?
So come on dear friends …add your link to this week’s link party and perhaps your post will be featured next Monday!!!
The rules for sharing your favorite post with us and getting a chance to be featured in next week’s ‘Celebrate Your Story’ are simple.

Thanks for the party fun Kari! Your Thanksgiving plans sound lovely, I’m not a Black Friday shopper either, online is my choice too! So nice of you to invite sno birds and friends, I want to do a Friendsgiving this year, I hope I can work that in!
Jenna
thanks Jenna for linking up…you are a sweetie and I so appreciate you. It is so rewarding when we share our bounty with others. Hugs
Oh I love all of this weeks features! No crazy shopping on Black Friday for me either.
There are so many great features to choose from it will be hard to pick just one. Thanks for linking up my friend.
Kari, thanks for co-hosting. Tried and true are what I’ve found people look forward to and each expects their favorite. I host Christmas, and have polled family for changes, but they always want the same thing. Hope your ankle is healing well. Imagine trying to navigate crazies on Black Friday with that?!
I guess we are traditionalists Rita, but that is a good thing.
I know…I know…this foot thing is really slowing me down but it is getting so much better. I am hoping the doc lets me walk on it (other than my heel) when I go to see him this week. Yay!!!
Thank you for supporting our link party.
Thanks for hosting my friend! Happy Tuesday!

Thanks so much for hosting each week!!
Hugs,
Debbie
Thank you so much Deb for stopping by, and thank you for linking up! Hugs
