Are you kidding me?
Seriously?
The Summer dishes, linens and pretty glasses with watermelons on them and all that Summer stuff is no longer in the store?
“It is only the first week in August“, I stammered.
The retail clerk nodded with that look of exasperation as she climbed up and down the ladder placing all kinds of Fall and Halloween items on the shelves.
If you agree with me that it is way to early to put seasonal things out in July and early August….
If you understand. If you are nodding your head and raising your hand! Then I am with you sister…Come Sit By Me!!! Of course, I know since writing this Blog that we do start earlier with tablescapes, etc…much like fashion is always a season ahead.
I get it.
But I don’t have to like it, now do I?
So today, I am going to show you my Summer Coastal Living Room while magazines are showing pumpkins, Autumn leaves and corn stalks on their glossy pages. Not that these pictures are not pretty, but here in Florida, we are still celebrating Summer.
That is me….I certainly do not go with the flow.
I love to change the look of my neutral living room with throw pillows and I have many pillow covers folded neatly in a few drawers. It is so much easier to change a cover than to store 20 or 30 plump pillows!
I used a turquoise rope vase filled with blue and white hydrangeas (faux) on the mantel along with a few shells and blue bottle.
The pillows are various shades of blue and all work well together.
I tossed a blue and white chenille throw across one of the chairs to add to the casual coastal look.
The coffee table is perfect for adding a book about the Sandy beaches and I topped the book with a large sea shell.
Orchids are very popular in Florida and the vase holds white orchids and a palm frond.
It is so easy to change up a room when my walls are a soft gray with white glossy woodwork! Very neutral! When it is time to bring out the Fall pillows and decor, it is a snap to change the look of the room.
I know. I know….That time will most likely be here next week, but for now, I will continue to enjoy my Summer Coastal Living room that has been in place since the 4th of July.
Fall will be here before we know it.
Have a great day!

I agree that it is too early for Fall, in Florida at least. I like the blues of the living room which remind me of the Gulf of Mexico!
