Yes, my dear readers time is flying by and Autumn is coming for sure, whether we like it or not.
Of course the main topic of the day is the total eclipse and people are flocking to the cities they feel will give them the best view.
Do any of you remember the movie “Close Encounters Of The Third Kind” ? People flocked from all over to converge on one place.
If so, do you remember the five notes that were played over and over and it is still a haunting five notes even today. You can click on the little arrow inside the black screen and by the way the “alert” it is referring to is it is very loud. So be prepared to turn the volume down.
Seeing the long lines of traffic on the news the past few day reminded me of that movie. I have heard of people traveling 4000 miles just to see this phenomena.
Me, personally…I will most likely stay inside and hunker down with a good book. The Captain will be flying so I am sure he will be prepared with correct glasses to protect his eyes. There is definitely plenty of information on using correct eye protection so I hope everyone pays attention to this very important part of seeing history.
Sorry, I digress!
Back to Autumn or Fall decorating….especially for your front door or front porch area.
I am just getting started but wanted to share what I am doing so far.
I used a brown plaid blanket throw and placed it over my black rocking chair.
I found a few mums to place around the rocking chair which always shout Autumn!
The pumpkins are all faux…later I will replace them with real pumpkins. I love the gray and white pumpkins and even the green ones that we are seeing these days.
I am still looking through my stash on my garage shelves for more outdoor decor but I wanted to give a boost to any who want to do something different with their porches or entries.
I also looked up past posts of another beginning to Fall decorating to get some ideas.
I am sure I will change my decor around a bit before I am satisfied that it is the way I want it.
Do you love decorating for Fall or Autumn?
Have a blessed and wonderful week-end!
