Once Upon A Time…there was a little girl…who loved the color pink!
I remember one Easter my grandmother bought my two sisters and I the prettiest pastel colored fleece pajamas.
One pair was a pale minty green in the softest material I had ever touched.
The second pair was exactly the same as the green pair of pj’s, but it was a pale lavender.
And the pale pink soft to the touch pair of pj’s…the prettiest of them all in my opinion, was given to me…and I was so excited.
Hello beautiful!
I can’t tell you how I felt in those pretty cuddly pink pj’s.
Over the years, I have went through many color favorites.
Think orange shag carpet….or avocado green carpet and copper tone appliances!
I know!
Several years ago, I chose pastel pink ornaments for the Master bedroom Christmas tree.
It brought back so many memories from years past and my love of pink.
Like proms with white sports coats and pink carnations…..
…….to bee-hive hair-dos kept high with cans of pink AquaNet hair spray!
I know!
Which leads me to 2019 Valentine’s Day!
A pink valentine tablescape!
And in the various colors of Pink!
I started with a pink floral tablecloth with matching napkins.
Using pale pink roses, I twisted the stems around the napkin and they became my napkin rings.
Thinking outside the box, I used my pink beaded napkin rings as flower decor down the center of the table.
I added a gold and glass vase to a larger gold and glass vase.
Fairy lights make the centerpiece flicker off of the faceted vase which looks so pretty at night i.n this pink valentine tablescape
I used pink handled flatware.
And pink stemmed wine glasses.
A pink pitcher and pink water glasses.
Further to the pink theme for Valentine’s Day, I had to have a pretty pink frosted cake.
And I made brownie bites and frosted them with butter cream frosting.
I used white dinner plates and topped them with a pink floral salad plates.
I finished the tablescape with various candles.
It was so fun dragging out all my pink “stuff” for this pink valentine tablescape.

Rhonda says
Love your pink tablescape, please tell me where the pink pearl handled flatware originates? Thank you for sharing.
Kari says
Oh Rhonda,I would certainly tell you if I could remember. I bought them years ago (10 years perhaps???) and my guess is Bed, Bath & Beyond. I remember buying a white handled set just like the pink ones at the same time. They looked vintage to me but I really don’t think they are and I don’t think I have seen anything like them there since. I’m sorry.

Kari, your table is so lovely with its mixtures of patterns as in your tablecloth and gorgeous pink plates. Your use of brass and bling takes your table to a classic yet modern table. And that yummy cake and cupcakes makes a perfect matching decor piece. It looks so beautiful along side your dinnerware. It is too pretty to eat. (Although, I do have a sweet tooth and wouldn’t hesitate having a piece.) Your pink flatware is another lovely addition and so are your beaded candle rings. It has been great blog hopping with you and Happy Valentine’s Day.

Kari, as the mom of two sons, I was tickled pink to read your story and view the gorgeous tablescape. I rarely get a chance to use my pink floral Mikassa dishes. Can’t get over the fabulous pink stemware — are they vintage? Gosh they’d go great with my dishes, so if they ever need a foster mom I’m first in line LOL! The pink rosette frosted cake couldn’t be more perfect on the table. All your details are lovely.

Rita C. says
What visuals, Kari, both in describing memories of and displays in pink! Your table looks so pretty in the creamy tones of pink you’ve used. My favorite elements (no particular order) are the glass stems, the salad plates and the rings used as table decor (Greenbrier pink and green!). Oh, and cake! What a beautiful cake. Use of vintage items is always an eye-catcher for this collecting magpie too. 😉
I can so relate to the pjs you described, and the vision of you three sisters brought back many a memory of my own when my mother used to dress us either the same or similarly. It was like a hug from the past.
Your week has been full of great Valentine posts Kari. I may not have commented on each and every, but each and every was definitely worth the read (in case others haven’t!).
Kari says
You made my day Rita. Thank you for your kind comments. You know, in my mind and heart, I can still smell those brand new fleece pj’s to this day. I can’t describe it but there are certain smells associated with my childhood that trigger memories. Sigh!
