February 1? Can March Madness Be Just Around The Corner? Yes, my dear readers….College basketball tournament time is coming up real soon and my Kansas Jayhawks are doing pretty good, so far.
For those of you who follow me….,
….you know that I am considered a fanatic sports fan.
So last evening after the Captain and I returned from our early Wednesday service at our church (4-5 p.m.), I reheated our home made chicken noodle soup, added mashed potatoes and a salad and prepared for a game against the number 2 team in the nation, the Baylor Bears who just happen to be in our Big 12 Conference!
Oh, did I mention that the Kansas Jayhawks are ranked number 3 in the nation?
uh huh!
The game didn’t disappoint for excitement….as the score was close through the whole game.
Yes, one of those nail biters or a sitting on the edge of your seat or…well, you get the picture…it was a close game.
However, the Jayhawks prevailed and won with a score of 73-68!
My children and grandchildren share my enthusiasm for sports and each has a favorite sport/team that they cheer for. …though usually not all of them as I do.
As you know I love Royals Baseball, Chiefs Football and Jayhawks Basketball!
Soooo, that means texting during the game with the grand kids during their favorite sport.
Last evening was no exception as beautiful grand daughter number 1 and I were fast and furious texting concerning the fast actioned basketball game.
At the end of the game we were both exhausted not only for the close game but from texting too.
Rock Chalk JayHawk!!!
Or RCJH for us’ens from Kansas.
Last Saturday was ESPN Game Day and all day long sports reporters did all their commentating from Kentucky as there was a Big 12/SEC matchup and the prediction was that it was certainly going to be a Kentucky win over Kansas.
Surprise! Kansas won the game 79-73!
Just sayin’ 🙂
We still have more conference games to play before the March Madness dance and it isn’t going to be a cake walk. Kansas has played with a target on their back for so long, that these teams come to play hard and they do.
But for now, we shall celebrate the win and a return to the top of the leader board in Big 12 basketball.
We have won 12 titles in a row and here is to one more. So far we have been a model of consistency and let us hope it stays that way.
Have a great and glorious day!
