Cupid’s Arrow 2025!
First, I don’t know how 2025 arrived so quickly and second we are so close to Valentine’s Day!
So let’s talk Cupid and Cupid’s arrow of Love and all that goes with it.
The table is set with a pretty tablecloth featuring lots of hearts and roses…after all, it is Valentines Day and doesn’t Cupid usually bring roses?
Next we have a few hearts scattered about, subbing as chargers as well as holders for the gold flatware.
The two gold candelabra are laden with tall red tapers.
The following pics are in various stages of my preparation in getting this table set up.
AND the white electric tree features hanging hearts of red, silver and pink rather than leaves.
I brought out two of the three gold candelabra and put 5 tall tapers in each for a little bit of formal.
I added little cake place card holders at each place setting.
…and of course I added bits of red in the form of two red cardinals which are always a favorite of mine, three mercury hearts, candy dishes and X’s and O’s for whimsey.
The cute, slender glasses are covered in hearts and were a dollar tree purchase many years ago.
I couldn’t resist adding a few red jelly hearts at the top of each plate,…..just in case a guest might want a sweet taste.
The plate stack starts with the heart shaped place mat followed by a white dinner plate and a white salad plate covered in red and pink hearts.
I really like the flatware holders which are felt hearts with slits cut for the knife, fork and spoon.
These are a very easy DIY.
The red napkins are positioned under the plates.
Place cards are held by resin cupcakes that I have had for years. I smile at their shapes of little cakes.
I will add the guest names after the list is confirmed.
My gold flatware I have had for years and I am fortunate the set came with iced tea spoons.
(hence the “R” monogram)
We will be using these with our champagne party punch in the slender glasses.
The salt and pepper shakers are red and white hearts
….and there is Valentine candy scattered across the table, it wouldn’t be Valentine’s Day without cupid and candy, right?
The menu is fun too….
Champagne Punch
Party Sandwiches
- Cucumber/Salmon Sandwiches
Egg Salad Sandwiches
Ham & Cheese Sandwiches
Fruit Tarts
w/lemon Curd & Strawberries & Blueberries
Cherry Chocolate Fudge
A special thanks to Rita of Panoply for organizing this Valentine’s Day Hop.
Happy Valentine’s Day to all.
Blessings as Always

Oh, Kari, I’m so sorry. I’m just seeing your table now. With sweet man still in recovery mode from knee replacement, I’m falling behind.
I love your Valentine’s Table. Your beautiful tablecloth is the perfect foundation. I love all your Hearts Plates. The candelabras add a touch of elegance. I smiled when I saw the conversation hearts. I would love to join you at your Valentine’s table.
Have a lovely Valentine’s Day! 🩷
~Nancy
No worries Nancy…I know what it is like when your “plate” is full. Give an extra hug to your Sweet Man as every day is a gift. Happy Valentine’s Day!❤️❤️❤️🩷🩷🩷
Oh yuummm – I’m on my way! 🤣 The table is so pretty and your menu sounds fabulous! I love all the fun candy treats at the table, and the little flatware hearts! SO creative! It’s always great hopping with you my friend!
Thank you my friend for stopping by and your kind comments. Happy Valentine’s Day and always fun hopping with you.
Kari, your cupid-inspired table will bring smiles all around, with its slightly vintage feel and bold red touches. The tree of hearts is both pretty and unusual. I bet all the heart ornaments will sparkle in the candlelight! The candelabra are beautiful and set the romantic tone. But I especially like the whimsical little cakes holding the place cards. Have a lovely Valentine’s Day!
thank you Sandra for your kind comments and for stopping by. It is always a pleasure to blog hop with you. Have a great and wonderful week-end.
Kari, you know what I love so much about this table? It’s all the elements you mention with a past history of your tabletop inventory, your creativity, and your ability to mix it all up and create something new. We all need to do more of that! The menu sounds absolutely delightful – my favorite way to share food with lots of choices in small proportions (no limit, though!). I’d be eating those little gummy hearts before my food was served, and probably some of the conversation hearts (I know Mr. P. would). This would be a fun table for gals or couples pals to sit around and enjoy. Thank you for sharing the love of tablescaping in this holiday of love. Let’s not talk about my Mountaineers. Watching them is like riding a roller coaster – so many ups and downs! But, overall, it’s definitely a better year.
Rita, thanks for organizing this hop and for your kind comments. You know how much I love playing with dishes and I love to use what is in my stash and giving my table a sort of “collected” look.
I hear ya on our basketball teams. The Jayhawks were predicted to “win it all” at the beginning of the season and only goes to show you what do they really know that early in the season? We had Houston beat twice when we played them last week and then in the final seconds of regulation play, we just couldn’t control the ball in the last seconds. Second overtime same scenario! Turn overs are killer. Double overtime before we finally gave up the ghost and Houston left Allen Fieldhouse with a win. Then we play UCF who we beat by 40 Jan 5th and barely beat them with a case of deja vu. These nail biters are killer. Who knows where we will end up? LOL. Go Mountaineers and Jayhawks!
Hi Kari, What a darling Valentine’s Day table. I feel like I just came out of a sweet vintage Valentine’s Day card that we use to pass to each other at school. It gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling and speaks volumes on charm. I love the use of bold red hearts with your red candles. The red checkered tablecloth melts my heart. The menu sounds so delicious. Love everything with a heart — plates, glasses, heart ornaments for your little tree….so sweet. Happy Valentine’s Day.
I am getting more nostalgic as I get older Marsha…. and I loved decorating an old shoe box to receive all my school valentines. I’m anxious for the menu because it is so simple but feels really special for my friends. The Captain and I will celebrate with a more intimate dinner for two right here at home. We like that much better than going out with the crowds.
Dear Kari, I always love your table settings, but this one is really special. It’s all about love and that’s what we need in this world now. You and the Captain have a wonderful Valentines Day.
Love,
Sandy
Thank you Sandy for your kind comments. Stay warm and keep safe. Prayers for you and Ron.
Kari, your table is beautiful! The gold candelabras with the red candles is so striking with your festive tablecloth. I love all of the hearts you have added, and your plate stack is so pretty. I enjoyed seeing all of the steps you shared in creating your lovely table. Your menu sounds absolutely scrumptious! I hope you have a happy Valentine’s Day, sweet friend!
Thanks for stopping by Shannon…and now we move on to St. Patrick’s Day so I have got to get my thinking cap on…🥴I’m looking forward to that (and all the hops for 2025)! hugs
Kari, what a pretty table and I loved how you walked us through the setting of it. The red tapers in gold candelabra and gold flatware in the heart inserts are so elegant, but I also love the playful touches of the candy on the plates and table and those sweet cupcake place holders. What a great find those glasses were. The white tree with the hearts is darling and so are the heart appetizer plates. The tablecloth with checks, hearts, and flowers is perfect for your theme. Your menu sounds absolutely delicious and I hope you have a wonderful party. Happy Valentine’s Day to you and the Captain!!
thanks Kim, I’ve set this table up for my Bible study ladies but the Captain and I will be having a quiet and romantic dinner by the fire (provided the temps are not in the 90’s…LOL) We have had cooler than normal temps these past few weeks and I’m looking forward to warmer temps.
Very creative table! I really like the print on your tablecloth because it looks vintage. I also think your DIY flatware holders are darling: What a clever idea! I also like your plates, too. Your menu sounds delicious, and the cupcake place card holders are the cutest. Happy valentine’s Day!
thank you Ricki, it is always fun when I play with table setting. Plus, isn’t it fun to leave a table set up until the actual day or holiday? It makes me think I am organized, even tho most times I’m not. LOL
Kari, your Valentine table is timeless with so many cute little touches. I love your tablecloth with both hearts and roses and the plaid inset!! Your candelabras make a real statement and I like the gold flatware tucked into their heart holders!! I hope you have a lovely Valentine’s Day❤️
Ann, I love finding cute tablecloths in my stash that I have forgotten about…it makes it seem like Christmas…LOL, I’m going to leave this one out a while so I can enjoy it. My problem these days is finding storage space. I suppose I should consider getting rid of a few things….but don’t think that will be happening anytime soon.
Kari, your tablesetting is perfect for Valentine’s Day. My favorite photos are the two looking down the length of your table toward the doorway of the beautiful gold candelabra with the tall red tapers. Whenever I photograph several tall tapers they appear all wonky even thought they are straight. Such a stunning tablecloth with that border of hearts and roses. The heart placemats and the heart holders for you gold flatware add so nicely to your theme as does the glasses and plates. Red gummy heart candies are so yummy!
Love the energy of Bidunga. Go Jayhawks!
thanks Jan….for your sweet comments on my table setting. I will be on edge tonight as the Jayhawks take the floor. I am still trying to get past last week’s game against Houston. Double Overtime and we had the game won twice!!! At the end of the game with a few seconds left to play and we lose control of the ball to careless ball handling. THEN at the end of the first overtime, we did the exact same thing so that by the time of the second overtime…we were tired and Houston took advantage of our foul trouble and it was over for the Jayhawks. But I will still be cheering them on and hope they watched the tape and saw their mistakes and don’t make them again. I hope so anyway! The good news is the KC Chiefs did well and we are off to the Super Bowl! Go Chiefs!!! Have a great week and Go Jayhawks! hugs my friend
Kari, your table is so pretty with your heart design. The tablecloth is lovely and sets a pretty stage for your cute heart plates and glasses. Love your sweet Valentine tree with hanging hearts. The candelabra is gorgeous with the red tapers. The gold flatware brings elegance to the table. Always a pleasure hopping along with you. Wishing you a lovely Valentine’s Day.
I need to think like you do Linda…I have two of the white electric trees and have tried to come up with a solution for the plug in outlets needed to electrify them without having cords draped in and around my guests. 🥴
What a festive table for Valentine’s Day Kari! This is my kind of table with candy on the plates. 😊 I love the tablecloth the combination of plaid with the hearts and flowers border. Such handsome gold candelabra and I love the whimsy of the white tree with heart ornaments. The cake place card holders are adorable and a sweet touch too! Did your area of Florida get snow? I was hoping we’d get some, but once again it passed us by. As always, it’s a treat to join you at the table and hop with you. Wishing you and the Captain a Happy Valentine’s Day ♥
thank you Mary for stopping by and no, we did not get any snow…guess we are to far south BUT we have been having cooler weather, more so than normal. As for the white tree, I have two of them and they have electrical cords (hidden by the red napkin on my table) that I would like to plug in…but cutting a hole in my tablecloth and running the cord down through the table leaf is not an option. You are so clever…I tried to think like you but alas, the white trees just remain unlit.🥴
Your table is a shower of hearts Kari! Your heart plates and glasses are so cute and I love the way you styled the dinner plates with the 3 candy hearts and all the candy scattered on the table. The red birds are so pretty as are the gold candelabras and the silver tree with the hanging hearts. Those place card holders are adorable! Your gold flatware is perfect~ I hope you have a wonderful Valentine celebration at this pretty table!
Jenna
Jenna you know my love for playing with dishes, today I am already thinking ahead to St. Patrick’s Day. Half the fun is in the planning…love every bit of it….altho I really need a new storage system. I am running out of organized room even tho I have been trying to cut back on buying anything new.
I hear you, I try not to buy anything!!!! Have fun planning!
Kari, you are the Queen of Hearts with this table. What a wonderful way to welcome February, the month of love! I like the way you took us along as you styled this table. Fun idea! I hope you and Your Captain have a beautiful celebration together. I was touched by your comment to me on my post. Thank you! Happy Valentine’s Day!
Sarah, I’m sure you know that it does get better altho we never forget. Some of life’s hardest moments occur when we or a loved one is facing death or we’re mourning a recent loss. But the words of Jesus and the good news of the Bible offer comfort and bring a message of hope that can make the dark days of grief feel a little sunnier. My faith has gotten me through losses of my husband, parents, grandparents and friends. 1Thessalonians 4:13, 14
You have definitely stolen my heart with all the hearts included in your tablescape. All of the accent pieces including the heart glasses and the heart plates add to the theme. I really liked how you used the candelabra with those lovely red tapers to bring height and a little sophistication to the table. Wishing you a very happy Valentine’s Day.
Lynne, Thrifting Wonderland
Thank you Lynne for stopping by and for your lovely comments. I love bringing out my extra long tapers as I think they make any occasion special. I debated using white candles but decided to make a bold statement with the red.
Kari, your valentine table is so pretty! Love the tree and cute plates and candy conversation hearts are such a timeless symbol to celebrate the occasion! Blessings, Cecilia @ My Thrift Store Addiction
Cecilia, I probably should not have scattered the candy because every time I walk by the table I grab a piece or two. The good news is because they are scattered one can not remember the count and the bad news is because they are scattered one can not remember the count. LOL
What a fun table – the place card holders are so cute and i adore the flatware hearts! The S&P are also sweet. The gold is so sparkly and eye catching! Well done – enjoy Valentine’s Day!
Patti I love to use place card holders and have collected quite a few. I think they ease my guests concerns over where they should sit, especially if they are with new people. Plus, I don’t have to instruct when asked. I like to use calligraphy as it makes guests feel special and over the years, I am getting much better at it. LOL
Kari, the tablecloth of hearts and roses is the perfect foundation for your Tablescape. The heart chargers and flatware holders gives that perfect pop of Valentine red. The two gold candelabra with the red tapers are somelegant. I like that you added a touch of whimsy with the formal. The dollar tree glasses covered in hearts along with salad plates covered in hearts add a bit more whimsy. The gold flatware is definitely a nod to elegance. I love the whimsical paired with the elegant for your table. The menu sounds perfect! It is always a treat to hop with you ❤️
My sweet friend Pam, thank you so much for your kind comments. All these years, you have always been an inspiration to me as you have so many beautiful pieces at these blog hops. I believe your AC linens are what I look forward to seeing first and then I look for that special piece (usually from your mother). Most importantly, you are a dear friend in Christ. Bless you!
