Santa Claus Table For Four

Every year, the days between Thanksgiving and Christmas get fewer and fewer!  The calendar remains the same so I am not quite sure how that happens.  But on this day…Christmas Eve…I know you are all busy with last minute things to do.  Me too!  In fact I need to be making deviled eggs and a cranberry-orange bread so I will make this quick.

Many of you know that my daughter came to visit a few weeks ago and she helped me semi-organize many of my Holiday dishes, etc.  The reason I say semi-organize is she left some of the organization for me to do after she left.  She did lay the groundwork which makes my job much easier. Instead of being scattered hither and yon, like pieces or Holidays are stored together.

Happily, I have come across dishes I had almost forgotten about such as my Santa Claus salad plates.  Let me add,  I am one to shout to the roof tops, ‘Keep Christ in Christmas’ but for the little ones…there will always be Santa Claus.

Let’s Get Started with our Santa Table Setting…

Santa

I love the rosy cheeked Santa Claus salad plates that sit atop a white ironstone dinner plate….And those are perched atop a cherry red charger with rhinestones on the rims.

The crocheted tablecloth which belonged to my grandmother is covered by a sheer clear tablecloth featuring gold snowflakes.  The flatware is red and a set I have had for years…..not sure where I bought them.

The red napkins are white stitched on the edges…and the napkin ring is a silver snow flake.

The snow flakes on the wine glasses add to the cold “snowy” theme….

Polar bears centerpiece

….. as do the white polar bears which have snowflakes surrounding them.  The mother and cub serve as my centerpiece.

I added a few bits of snow topped greenery and a couple pine cones.

Joy snow globes

I have a small “JOY” snow globe at each place setting…..I am really into snow globes and have many sitting around my home.

I have made up my menus (and checked them twice) for 3 meals:

Tonight’s Christmas Eve ‘Feast of the Fishes’… Shrimp Cocktail, Fried Shrimp, Hush Puppies and Coleslaw (after our Church’s candlelight service)…

Breakfast Brunch on Christmas Day...Sausage Egg Casserole, Cranberry Orange Bread, Fruits and Juices and finally….

Christmas Dinner of Honey Glazed Ham, Scalloped Potatoes, Deviled Eggs, Pistachio Salad, Broccoli Rice Casserole, Dinner Rolls and Chocolate Meringue Pie.

Have a safe and wonderful Christmas….everyone!

Luke 2: 11-14 “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, good will toward men.”

  1. This is just the happiest table! It makes me smile, just looking at it. And I love that you have some very personal touches like that tablecloth. The flatware is wonderful. And your menu sounds somewhat similar to ours — and isn’t it delicious? Sending all good wishes for a happy Boxing Day, belated Christmas greetings and a wonderful new year!

  2. Dear Kari,
Loved your table setting. It looks wonderful. Ron and I watched Mike Huckabee’s Christmas in Israel this morning and it was fantastic. Mike and John Bachman took us through Nazareth where Mary and Joseph started, then to Bethlehem where Jesus was born and back to Nazareth where he grew up. They took us around Jerusalem. In Nazareth Jews, Muslims and Christians live in harmony. It was a beautiful story and Israel is a beautiful place. I wish I weren’t too old to go there. You and Tom should go some day. My Aunt Mayme and Uncle Bud (Howard) went there before they died. Mike Huckabee said he’d been to Israel many times but this was the first time for Christmas. He says it’s wonderful.

    Merry Christmas!

    1. I would love to go at Christmas time…Tom and I loved it when we went…. which was an October visit (During Ramadan). We rode camels up Mt. Sinai to watch the sunrise which was surreal and magical as it was where the 10 commandments were brought down by Moses. I am sorry we missed the special with Mike Huckabee…we really like him (and his daughter). He was a perfect choice as Ambassador for sure. Maybe we can catch a re-run of the program. Happy New Year to you and Ron…may it be a healthy year for all. (We ain’t gettin’ any younger🥴🥰). Hugs ❤️

  3. Kari, girlfriend, you always astound me with your table scapes! Always so beautiful!
Merry Christmas to you, Tom and the family.
While your meals sound yummy, (especially that orange cranberry bread!) we have our enchiladas, rice and beans and guacamole salsa ready to go. My house smells like a greasy spoon! Gotta love it!
    Blessings to you and yours!

P.S., what did you think when you heard the Chiefs were moving to k.c., k!!
    I was shocked!

    1. Yummy Pat! Your meal sounds wonderful…what about tamales? I didn’t make any this year but I have in years past…and I actually love a greasy spoon smell! LOL.
I had heard the Chiefs might make a move…I just wish they could have made some football playing moves that would have at least got us into the playoffs…don’t want to be too greedy and be in the SuperBowl every year. LOL What is funny are the people who think the Chiefs are moving so far away….LOL! They don’t realize that there are two Kansas City’s with only a river separating them and the Chiefs will only be about 30 minutes from the current Arrowhead. I’m sure many Kansans will be a lot closer to the games than having to drive through downtown KC. I wish they would have had a covered dome when we lived there and had season tickets…I spent many a game day ‘freezing’.
Thanks for stopping by my friend….and for your comments.🎄🥰❤️

Please comment, I'd love to hear from you.
