Here & There And Every Where!
Good Morning my dear friends….and welcome if this is your first visit. I have to confess that I spent most of the day yesterday in bed with the chills and a low grade fever. However this morning I am good as new. So not sure what that was all about. Have you ever had something that looked like it could last for days but a few hours later was gone? I suppose it could be the weather.????
The weather here in Florida is trying to get back to normal. The photo above (taken several weeks ago) was about 100 miles north of us here in the Cape, but our temps were in the 30’s. Thankfully our weather has been getting warmer each day, reaching about 72 before dipping back down into the 50’s in the evenings. The Captain and I chuckle when we see the snowbirds driving around in top down convertibles and sleeve-less shirts while us locals bundle up in coats and hats. We do look a little funny with shorts, flip flops and parkas. I guess we are acclimated to the warmer weather and when the temps dip to the 30 and 40’s we drag out the heavy outer ware.
We celebrated Valentines Day at my weekly Bible Study with Valentine Cookies and Candies and I gave out little Valentines with a bag of candy attached.

It was so sweet that a couple of the ladies brought a Valentine gift (though none was requested) and I really appreciated the heart-shaped measuring spoons from Sharon, and the small heart shaped chocolates from Susie Q.

I love to decorate with a theme for Bible Study and since this was the day before Valentine’s Day…it was such fun. I used sheet music and other valentine touches.
Aren’t these little gold cupids cute? I found them and the little white tray on Amazon….here and here if you would like to take a look. The little guardian angel holding the heart was also a great find last year and is still available here. I have so many little heart shaped dishes in my stash, it was a delight when I found a set of these ceramic candy dishes. Sometimes I have used them for desserts but on this day I used them for the cookies. I got a bit more creative with these cookies. I usually make my sugar cookies heart shaped and frost with pink powdered sugar icing.
I used the angels and tray on my Golden Valentine Table for the Captain and me.
This was our table lit up for Valentine’s Day. If you missed it, you can see that post here.

Have you been watching the Olympics? I really love the ice skating, particularly the Ice Dancing and Pairs Skating. It touches this ole’ Romantic’s heart. I don’t get to watch all the events….although I would love to have the time, but I was able to catch some of it while under the weather.
I am ready for Spring and have been envious of some of my neighbors to the North who are showing daffodils blooming. My friend Pam at Everyday Living had a beautiful bouquet on her Sunshine Cottage table.

Have a Blessed and Beautiful week.

What a fun time you had with your group — and the Valentine’s timing was perfect. I love your sweet favors and lovely gifts. Decorating with sheet music is brilliant! I’ll have to remember that for the future. I think you are definitely the hostess with the mostest! I’ve been loving the Olympics too — especially the skating but also all those sports I’d never even attempt in a thousand years. I am in awe of skiers and snowboards who go high in the air and turn somersaults and twists! I hope by now you are feeling much improved — and stay that way!
Oh Jeanie, I can only imagine the talent these athletes have…In my younger days, I played softball and basketball and loved it. However that was many moons ago and the athletes these days are far superior to any in my day. I marvel at the different Olympic events, some I have never heard about. All the athletes get my respect, no matter the country….though I favor the USA of course. Thanks for your kind comments and stopping by and have a wonderful week-end.🥰
I am so glad you are feeling better! Sometimes our bodies are just telling us to slow down and take a rest.
Your treats for your Bible study group were so sweet. The cherubs are sweet as well.
Love your John 3:16. ❤️
Enjoy your Bible Study!
Thanks for stopping by Nancy….I’m planning on celebrating the romantic month of February til the end of the month! The Captain teases me that my birthday celebrations (in November)started out as a day celebration, then a week and finally the whole month. 😂LOL And so it will be for other of my favorite Holidays.🥰❤️🩷❤️
I’m so sorry you didn’t feel well, Kari, but thankfully you made a quick recovery and got to watch some Olympics. Your cookies look adorable and I’ll bet the Bible study ladies loved them. Your dishes and cherubs are so cute and you received some thoughtful gifts. Our weather has been so nice here in Texas! Have a great week, Kari. ❤️
Thank you Kitty for your well wishes! I am so glad your weather is improving in Texas! I do love Texas and we lived there for several years, actually Our twins were born in Dallas so it will always have a special place in my heart. I’m glad I got my cookie baking done, although I am thinking of making the same recipe for St. Patricks Day. If it ain’t broke…don’t fix it. Thanks for stopping by my friend.🥰
Dear Kari,
I love your John 3:16. Sorry you have been sick, but glad you got well fast. It is going to be 71 degrees here today. We are getting a lot warmer weather and it’s early for February, but over the weekend it’s supposed to get cold again. Hopefully not below zero again. The weather is really strange this year. I think God is telling us something if we only knew what.
Happy Ash Wednesday!
Hugs,
Sandy
Hi Sandy! So glad your weather is warming up…at least for a few days anyway. Not sure what the “bug” was but it left as quickly as it came. I thought I was in for a bad case of the flu but apparently all I needed was to sleep for 15 hours straight under 3 heavy quilts,… while wearing ugly, thick, black socks! LOL! Have a great week. Hugs
Hello Kari, I am so sorry you were sick but at least it didn’t last long. I have come down with laryngitis, I think Butch is enjoying the silence. How I would love to be in your Bible study. You are a great hostess and I am sure a wonderful teacher. I begin a Bible study next week that I will help facilitate. I am looking forward to it. You are so sweet to give me a shout out, my friend. I always enjoy my visits with you, hopefully one day in person. Enjoy the rest of your week!
Pam, I so enjoy our Bible Study and the ladies tell me they enjoy it too…I know I am delving deeper into the Word, so I feel I am the one being taught. I would love to have you in our group…as the song goes..”I can only imagine”. Take care of yourself and rest your voice…but only until the Laryngitis is gone, then “He who has an ear, let him hear”…..🥰 although sometimes, as the Captain will attest…there is “A time to keep Silence, And a time to Speak” 😀 I like the Hemingway quote: “It takes two years to learn to speak, and sixty to learn to keep quiet”. 😂 Have a wonderful day. The sun is shining bright here today.
