What’s on my mind?
Nah, don’t want to bore y’all with what’s on my mind today.
But what’s happening,… that’s another matter.
I have been getting mentally and emotionally ready for my annual Doctor’s exam. (I don’t care to visit Doctor’s offices)
But, go I did…
I prefer to make appointments after the Sno-Birds have left for the summer.
Waiting rooms are almost empty.
Everything went well…bloodwork turned out ok. So other than blood pressure being a little high, I am ok for another year. 🙂
Happening number two!
We are in what they call in Florida…the Rainy Season…or the Monsoon Season.
Put simply…all that means is that one can count on rain every day, usually about late afternoon and sometimes for just a short shower or two.
The rainy Season lasts about a month and it is at this time that every plant, shrub or bush can be expected to turn your garden into a jungle.
The neatly trimmed shrubs suddenly sprout long, bushy tendrills of lush foliage.
Example below is a before and after pic of the red hibiscus which is to the left of the birdbath:
The red boots are positioned at a different angle, but the birdbath is in the same spot. The above pic was taken about 3 months ago.
The above pic was taken today, after being in the rainy season for about a month.
Because of the consistent temperature…Things grow ’round the clock!
So what else is happening??
I’m just sort of hanging out now … doing nothing in particular.
I’m putzing around … fixing, arranging, as usual.
Oh, ….after the Doctor’s appointment this morning, I visited a local shop that sports cute little …well… for lack of a better word… “stuff”!
I felt in need of a reward for actually making the appointment and following through with it. 😉
I added a pretty little “hello” to my decor in a nitche by the fireplace.
I saw it,… along with the starfish below, which I needed for a tablescape I am planning.
AND the “hello” sign just made me smile, so I bought it too!
I have to confess that I say “hello” out loud each time I look at it. 🙂
I did see a beautiful rainbow the other afternoon after a brief rain shower.
However, there was no pot of gold at the end of this rainbow…only a slurpee! 😉
And that’s what’s happening today.
What about your day? What’s happening?

Glad you passed the annual check up… hope you are taking the blood pressure seriously too and scheduling some “down time” with your feet up.
Amazing to see the empty doctor’s waiting room… here you have to pre plan any doctor’s visit before you are ill.
I’m so jealous of the way your plants grow… I think I need to start googling a bio dome for mine… I’m determined to have my palms, banana plants and now have a tree fern… but wish I could have that Bismarck palm… in fact I’m now on a quest..
Hugs and keep puddle jumping 🙂

The Captain and I are thinking about cutting down the Shady Lady tree that is in the middle of the circle drive because it is so messy….drops leaves all the time and they stain the driveway. I would like to replace it with a palm tree and perhaps it should be a Bismarck in your honor??? Now,… I always think of you when I pass by a Bismarck because of your fondness for them. 😉
Candis says
Hello Kari, I had to smile at you saying hello back to your sign….that just reminds me of lovely you. Miss you, Candis
Kari says
Hi Candis….I miss you too! I think of you each time the Captain and I go for ice cream (far too many times than needed, I might add) 😉 Don’t know why, but those are such good memories of ice cream in Liberty with all of you!
Hugs Always!

Today, my cousin took me out for my birthday lunch, and we went Piropas at Briarcliff. We always set at a window, so we get a lovely view of Kansas City, MO. There was a haze hanging over the city because of the high humidity. 83% I believe. We had a lovely lunch, and we talked and ate for almost three hours. lol

Perfect Sandy! I love long talkative lunches…..so much fun especially when time slips away. 😉
