Organizational in January….
Ok, my dear readers….I don’t make resolutions because they are too easy to break and then one feels guilty or like they have failed ….and I believe in positive thoughts and actions.
This came to mind during my “quiet time” this morning….I love getting up at zero dark thirty because there is no “white noise”… except for the occasional singing of the mockingbirds as they begin their day. It is absolutely the best time of day in my opinion. My devotions for the day began with Phillipians 4:8:
“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” KJV
See? No negativity!
I have to tell you that I get such piece of mind, reading the Word, as the dawn breaks through in glorious splendor! I “feel” God is all around me. The ‘peace that passeth all understanding‘ is in the quietness of the early morning, in the beautiful hues of blues, rosy pinks, and golds of the sunrise, in watching the bright, red cardinals fluttering in the bird bath, and in my steaming cup of amber-colored hot tea. Yes, all that is a comfort and so beautiful to me.
All of that, reminds me of how “organized” nature tends to be…
As I reflect, I think about the satisfaction I get when I am organized. What is it about a neat closet or pantry or fridge that just makes one feel all is right in the household? Which brings me to my Menu Planner/Management Book.
You see, I decided that I should have a way to organize/plan my meals (especially since writing this Blog has me preparing twice as many meals and baking almost daily) Soooo, I laminated a few printed pages of ideas for breakfast, lunch and dinner and used small post-its to write down entrees, veggies, etc….AND as I plan a meal, I pull the color coded post-its from the “idea” page and stick on the 2 week planning pages.
As you can see from the pics…this is a work in progress, (need lots of post-its labeled), but so far…it is working. I can also use a dry erase pen to scribble notes/shopping lists etc; on the laminated pages.
By the way, I mentioned this to “Only Daughter” yesterday afternoon and she told me that Beautiful Grand daughter #2 told her of a phone app that very day at lunch. This app allowed Grand Daughter to keep track of her pantry goods and expiration dates! How timely was that? I did download the app and I am currently snapping the bar code on my pantry items. I will share how that is working at a later post.

A new day, a new beginning…..Isn’t it beautiful?
Have a Blessed day….:)
