Opening Day, Hall of Fame, And A Master Bedroom Make-over!
Have you ever went to bed so excited about an upcoming event(s) that you couldn’t sleep?
I did that last night….and for sooo many reasons.
I feel like a little kid as I have waited in anticipation for April 3rd.
You see it is Baseball OPENING DAY!
- Today is the Kansas City Royals Opening Day of baseball. Yes, that means 162 games of Me, Only Daughter and Grand daughter #3 texting back and forth during the games!
- And….Today is the final game of the NCAA National Basketball Tournament! The two teams who have made their way to this wrap up of the college basketball season are in a duel tonight! I had hoped my team, KU would still be in the tournament but they were knocked out last week in the Elite 8.
- However, our coach, Bill Self was elected to the Hall of Fame, for which he is abundantly qualified with a resume that includes the 2008 national title, 13 straight Big 12 Conference titles, 632 career wins at four schools (including 416 at Kansas) and a 43-18 NCAA Tournament record with nine Elite Eight appearances.
- And….one of our point guards, Frank Mason has received 4 National Player of the year awards in the last 4 days! Quite a feat in this day of great college basketball players.
So that takes care of the Sports part of my post…….
……..and there really is no way to segue into the Master Bedroom Make-Over, other than just changing the subject….
…… I would like to give you a sneak peak at the Master bedroom.
There are still major issues to deal with in this room.
Decisions need to be made regarding the maple plantation shutters, bamboo floors and the massive bedroom furniture.
Ok, I am dealing with that and will have a major reveal when the Captain and I have a heart to heart discussion.
In the meantime, I LOVE the white bedding…such a change from the chamois duvet and pillows.
I placed a bed tray filled with Spring hydrangeas and lemonade glasses and cookies for a Spring time snack.
I will keep you posted on the progress of turning this masculine bedroom into a calming coastal bedroom.
Now, I have to lay out my baseball cap, Royals shirt and rest my texting fingers ….
It is Opening Day!

Hi..I like it. Looks cool and refreshing. Be sure to keep me updated after the “Heart to Heart” talk! When did you have time to bake those cookies that look so yummy?
Kari says
Thanks Karole…when the makeover is complete I will be sure to post pictures…I m loving the refreshing look after the chamois look for so long.
The cookies were bought…although I did make some similar a few weeks ago which was certainly a learning curve and took me forever to frost. haha
I used to just put on a powdered sugar frosting and called it good…. but I actually made a special frosting with egg whites and had to let dry and add another layer etc etc etc…you know a Martha Stewart frosted cookie…
so when I saw the little bunnies already frosted and cute…it was much easier to let someone else do the work. lol
thx for stopping by
