Sleighs, Trucks And Automobiles….and yes, my dear readers…the countdown is near!
December is flying by….
Have you noticed how popular the little red trucks are in many Christmas decorations?
I absolutely adore the little red truck with the Christmas wreath on the radiator (does anyone know what a radiator is any more?)
sigh…
…..that ages me doesn’t it? But the truck is so cute with a string of lights on the pick-up bed and Christmas tree in the back. Makes me think of John Boy and The Waltons Christmas from the popular television series of long ago.
Oh, that probably dates me too! π
And the little car with the Christmas tree on the roof….love it! love it! love it!
Then there is the addition of the white sleighs to complete the centerpiece. Hence the name Sleighs, Trucks and Automobiles!
Actually, it is an old fashioned red and green Christmas. Just like the old days.
I placed a red and green plaid tablecloth on the table in the kitchen nook and used flatware of plaid, stripes, and checks of red and green.
The chargers are a light shade of green and the dinner plates are red.
The salad plates have sleighs in their patterns and…
I have placed little white sleighs with name tags in the center of each salad plate.
The stemmed glasses are a light green and match the chargers.
I kept the linen napkins white to tie in with the white sleighs.
I adore the napkin rings which are strips of red material trimmed in white fur and a Santa black belt in the middle. Sooo cute!
The countdown is getting near as we all know and I have a few more tablescapes to share with you just in case you are looking for a few ideas or inspiration.
Have a great and Blessed Day!
So pretty love the old fashion plates with the sleighs you are so talented and so creative I donβt know how you come up with your inspiration πππππ
Thanks sweetie…usually, I see a salad plate and just plan around that. These salad plates were from Wal-mart (on line, last year). I actually used this tablescape last year when I had the round glass table in the kitchen nook. thanks for stopping by and I love your comments. π
I just love your blog, especially your commentary!! I was wondering a couple things, where did you purchase your flatware and is it one set or a combination of sets? It’s hard to believe that Christmas is only 11 days away yikes. Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Gail, it is one set of flatware and I purchased it a few years ago. I have never seen anything like them since…but I will always keep looking because I have so many compliments on them.
I am glad you enjoy my ramblings.
Merry Christmas from our house to yours.
