Blue???? Hep me! Hep me! Hep Me! Hep Me!!!
Seriously, I need your help.
I know because you are all such faithful readers, that you will give me your honest opinions.
So here is the deal.
I decided I wanted to change the master bedroom look, which is so easy to do when using neutrals….I removed the large pic above the bed and put up 4 blue coastal corals in blue.
I change out a the pink pillows and tossed in a few navy blue pillows.
They look almost black in the photo above because I took the pic with my IPhone at night, so the lighting is terrible.
Pretend with me here that they look Navy blue.
If you have followed me for awhile…you know I have changed out pillows before.
Here…which was a Fall look with blue and gray pumpkins on the toss pillows.
Here…(this was before I used white chalk paint on the oak headboard) and I brought in turquoise flowers and glasses.
When we changed up the master bedroom colors…lightened the walls, painted the woodwork white,… I also used chalk paint on the base of the lamps that I have had for at least 10 years and I feel it is time for a change. The walls are a light gray.
The lamp shades are a light tan…I really didn’t like them that color, but I thought budget wise I could live with them and it would give a little contrast to the neutral colors of the room.
But now…after living with those lamp shades, my first thought was to replace the shades with white shades.
However, I am even second guessing myself on the lamps themselves.
I think it is time for them to vacate the premises.
So here is where I would like your thoughts.
On table lamps.
Should I replace the shades on the existing lamps OR……
…………should I go with something completely different.
Like this white base with blue shade???
Or completely neutral with white shade and white base which would work well with whatever pillows I put on the bed?????
Or this, a reversal of the first lamp….white shade and blue base???
Or maybe do a clear bottom to the lamp, such as this one???
I really would love your suggestions, or perhaps you have something completely different in mind to suggest.
Please share with me and I promise I will read each and every suggestion and make a decision based on your comments.
I am really in the mood to make changes in this room.
And I can’t decide which way to go.
Thanks and I am looking forward to your comments and thoughts.
You are the best and most wonderful readers and I mean that from the bottom of my heart.
Blessings.

Hi Kari, adding the pretty blue will make the room pop! You can paint the lamp or buy new shades. They are inexpensive. You can even paint the shades…. Make sure if you get new lamps, they are larger. I think you need larger accessories, little ones get lost.

Thanks Linda for your suggestions…great ideas! I agree on larger accessories! Thanks for stopping by.

thanks Tammy….I like that blue on the base of the lamp too and any shade would be an improvement on the tan shades that exist now.

Aloha! I like the changes you’ve done so far. Especially changing the dark headboard to white & changing from one picture to the 4 smaller ones over the bed. To me, it really emphasizes the headboard now.
I like the white lamps with the dark blue shades to match the navy blue pillows. I think you need more colorful pillows to blend in….maybe navy & white striped pillows to add a design to the solids. Keep some plain white pillows in between the solid blues & striped blues. You can always get different lamp shades to change out later if you want to change out the pillows.
Excited to see the makeover when you’re done. I’m sure whatever you choose it’ll look great….(as usual!)
Hope you both have a super 4th of July!!
Hugs….
Janet

I hope you are still well away from the lava flows….and thanks for your suggestions. I am glad you like the white headboard and the change in the picture above the bed. I am going to check on striped pillows as I think that is an excellent idea. Changing out the lamp shades is a great idea too. Thank you so much for your input. It always helps to have other sets of eyes on a project.
Have a great 4th and give Bud a hug from us both.
I will email you with more news next week.
