Happy Monday my dear readers,
It is such a beautiful day here in SW Florida, And the week-end was perfect for cleaning up and planting gardens.
The Captain and I worked in the Secret Garden as well as the front garden, stopping only to go to church on Sunday and to treat ourselves to a scoop of ice cream at our little ice cream shop.
The red mulch is all down in and around the bushes, and I planted a few plants as well as hanging a few hanging baskets.
If you missed the post showing the flowers, please click here to see the post, Tropical Plants and Soup in the Secret Garden.
My favorite posts for this week!
I love pears and I love tarts and The Quilt lady at chasing my life has provided a recipe for a French pear tart.
This recipe looks so good that I can’t wait to try it so I will definitely add this recipe to my recipe file.
To the quilt lady: Would you recommend a glaze over the pears…or would that perhaps make the tart too sweet? And thank you so much for linking up with us.
Another recipe that caught my eye is the Trinity Pie from Marilyn at Marilyn’s Treats.
This pie looks almost like those mile high pies from the wonderful restaurant/bakery near St. Louis.
To Marilyn: Apples, walnuts and cranberries! I can’t wait to make this pie. Thanks for linking up with us.
Ok, you have got to take a look at this DIY planter for your outdoor umbrella table.
Victoria at dazzle while frazzled has a step by step way of making a pretty planter with a hole for the umbrella.
Clever using two pots to make the flowers go all around the umbrella pole.
To Victoria: I love your pink petunias…they look so pretty in your planter and thank you for linking up with us.
The most clicked on post from last week!
From my days of being a real estate agent, I always said if you free your home of clutter, maintain curb appeal and you price it right…you will sell your home right away.
Apparently, Kathryn of the dedicated house did just that, because her home sold in one day. Woot! Woot!
To Kathryn: Thanks for the lovely tour and photos and thanks for linking up with us.
So there you have it my friends….thanks to all of you who joined our Celebrate Your Story Link Party.
