My dear sweet friends and family…
I apologize for my inconsistency in updating you but I have finally finished the after surgery chemo protocol AND the CAT scan and it was confirmed that All the cancer is gone. Finally all tubes and IV’s are removed and my only appointment is a follow-up in January.
Praise God!
What a journey this has been during this past year and I have felt all your prayers and well wishes and I won’t dwell on that or I will be crying….you have all meant to much to me. (I have become very emotional lately.)
I have been regaining my strength slowly but surely and I still have a ways to go….but I am getting there.
The chemo had turned my hair white and curly….and yesterday I called my hair dresser to get my hair cut…I had not seen her for over a year….and she cut the white curls and we then put color on it so it is red again. I almost couldn’t sit for that long but I did it and it really lifted my spirits to look in the mirror and see a familiar face or in this case…hair. I am still losing hair but hopefully the chemo side effects will wear off very soon. My hands and feet are still numb and tingly….my hearing has not completely returned and I still feel pain in my abdomen, my appetite is gone and I’ve lost about 50 pounds….but all that is better than the alternative.
Phil 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” To God be the Glory…Amen
The Captain has been amazing and one of the sweet ladies from church has stayed with me from time to time. I love my church family.
Romans 8:26….
Thank you dear ones….
You are in my daily prayers
Blessings Always
Kari

I’ve been thinking of you regularly Kari, I hope you are still fighting on and finding comfort with your strong family and your Captain.
The push to write to you was a home buying program on the tv tonight where they are in your beautiful Cape Coral.
I’m sorry I haven’t touched base for some time, but I sincerely hope you are ok.
Love and hugs from across the pond. Ross x

I keep all your posts in my inbox, always looking.for an update. This is the best one yet! I keep you in my prayers, Kari, and am so happy you were able to tolerate sitting for the benefit of some self-love. I know during COVID shutdown my hair length didn’t bother me as much as lack of color. Praise God!

OH MY HEAVENLY GOD, KARI!!!!!! This is the greatest news! It brought tears to my eyes. Your faith and our collective faith and prayers (all of your friends and followers) have been answered. Miracles can and DO happen. I hadn’t told you, but the love of my life, Rich (dubbed by you “the professor”) has stage 4 b-cell lymphoma and is currently in chemo. We are very optimistic, though, and your success story is inspiring. I hope we see you and Tom soon. GOD IS SO GOOD!!!!!
