Thankful, Grateful, Blessed!
My dear friends this is the time of year when most of us take the time to reflect on how thankful, grateful and blessed we are.
Of course we should be thankful every day and as we take the time to look around us, there is much to be thankful for.
I know, I know…the world appears to be going downhill in more ways than one.
But we need to remind ourselves that God is in control, and if we back off and let Him, our lives would have much less stress.
Below is my offering of a tablescape for this Thanksgiving season.
I started with the tablecloth which is beige…kinda blah by itself so I perked it up with colorful Caramel plaid napkins after putting different napkin rings on the beige and the plaid napkins.
Decisions! Decisions!
I also debated on the flatware….all gold or the patterned.
I chose the plaid napkins, the pearl and gold rings and the patterned flatware. 😊
I then added puffy seagrass chargers
The pearl and gold napkin rings have been used so many times before.
The plate stack consists of white with gold rimmed edges and they have been featured at other tablescapes.
One such occasion is here.
The flatware has a beautiful, but subtle pattern that goes along with the neutral look I envisioned for this table.
I love the brownish-gold goblets that almost look like florentine depression glass.
I was excited to find the Valerie ParHill plaid pumpkin shaped name card holders that almost match the plaid napkins.
For the centerpiece, I chose a Autumnal placemat placed over the tablecloth and set an ivory/beige neutral vase I had in my stash and slipped in a bit of this and that, consisting of bunny tails, straw and a bit of plumes.
The rust and caramel colored tapers are all sitting in amber colored holders I found on-line.
The six small pumpkins have “thankful”, “grateful”, and “blessed” printed on them in a lovely script.
I have had these little pumpkins in white and in orange for several years.
I put them out every Fall.
Today I scattered them all over the table.
I also think of all kinds of nuts as we progress from Summer into Autumn.
And no, I am not talking about the people kind of nuts. 🤗 LOL
I’m talking about the walnuts, pecans, peanuts, almonds and other kinds of edible nuts that we add to our baking and for just plain eating.
I placed nuts around the table and in a wood and metal cake pedestal along with some lovely bosc pears I found at the market.
For a bit of whimsey, I laid a brown fedora hat atop a wood slice to keep in the neutral theme at one end of the table and a straw basket filled with a water pitcher and water glasses each wrapped in rattan at the other end of the table.
You might be wondering why a fedora hat?
I guess I wanted it to look like someone just dropped by and decided to stay for dinner….that, and it carried on the almost monotone look on the table.
You know I like the unpredictable.
I hope you take the time to reflect on your own feelings and come away with an almost unending list of things to be thankful, grateful and blessed with.
Thank you for visiting my Thankful, Grateful and Blessed table setting.
Colossians 4:2
“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.”
Psalm 147:7
“Sing to the Lord with grateful praise….”
Revelation 1:3
“Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and Blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it, for the time is near.”
Thank you Rita of Panoply for putting together these friends to celebrate the Thanksgiving Season.

Gorgeous Kari! I am loving the plaid napkins with the subtle bling of the jeweled napkin rings! The goblets really caught my eye, as they almost seem to be an iridescent gold/brown! Your flatware is so pretty and unusual! The addition of the fedora was the perfect touch! Happy Thanksgiving!
Kari says
thanks Maureen for your kind comments, I really was striving for that monotone-ish look….and those pieces helped me achieve that. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Kari, I love the array of honey/golden/amber/pearl/caramel hues on your table. It’s a comforting blend of soft colors that is very approachable, a table that I would enjoy sitting at for a long Thanksgiving dinner. I love the organic elements you added such as the nuts and the unexpected appearance of pears. Well done! I enjoyed hopping with you! Happy Thanksgiving

Kari, Thank you for the reminder that we all have so much to be thankful for. Love the neutral palette of you table…so serene and calming and a nice change from the brighter autumnal shades and colors. Love the natural elements and addition of pears and nuts, pumpkins and pretty goblets. As always, it’s a treat to have a virtual seat at your table. Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving season! 🦃
Kari says
Bless you Mary for your sweet comments. I like a neutral palette once in a while. The other day I dressed in all creamy white for church with long slacks, turtleneck sweater and boots and purse. Guess I am in my “neutral” phase this year. LOL Happy November.

Kari, as you know, I also went with a more neutral colorway in my own tablescape, and I do really find yours anything but blah! The different textures and patterns you’ve added feel very inviting and cozy to me, including the hat. I saved a similar one of my Dad’s, which he wore to the last Thanksgiving we shared before he passed. Seeing yours definitely conjured a feeling of a mixed emotions of thankful, grateful, blessed. Your stemware and candleholders both look like Depression glass to me, very pretty. I love your china pattern with the gold rim. The nuts and pears add a nice, natural texture, as do the stems you used for your centerpiece.
I’m so very thankful you are among the stylists sharing creative tablescapes and friendship in this hop!
Kari says
Rita, the thanks go all out to you for providing this platform for all of us. You have all the patience of Job and do such a fabulous job of organizing.
Thank you for your kind comments and as for our sports teams…Jayhawk football is at least watchable these days…they are not great but they lose less. LOL. Basketball has always been our strong suit…KU is so much better at basketball than they are at football but then the KC Chiefs keep my football energy going.
Hugs and Blessings.

Kari, you hit the bulls-eye on each of the elements on your table.. the neutral hues are so serene and inviting…Just love the blessing pumpkins, the woven ones and the whimsy of the fedora. Pray tell, is there a source for those beautiful golden goblets?
They are the perfect appointment… Please give me a label, so my heart can start beating again….. A most blessed Thanksgiving to you and yours.

Kari, your table is lovely! The caramel checked napkins look fantastic with those pretty napkin rings and your elegant white and gold-rimmed dishware. The plaid/checked pumpkin place card holders are a great match too. I love all the texture in in your centerpiece and the rust and caramel candles look so pretty in the amber candle holders and the rust adds just a little pop of color. The goblets are gorgeous and the script on your pumpkins really says it all. Love all the nuts (edible, not people) that you’ve added too and the fedora is just so fun – I’ll bet it looks great on you! It was fabulous hopping with you today and wishing you a grateful, thankful, and blessed Thanksgiving!

As a matter of fact, I wore a Fedora hat to church on Sunday. I LOVE hats and am trying to start a movement of one to re-introduce hats at church. LOL. I wore a black hat and cape a couple Sunday’s ago and our Pastor called me Zorro after the service. What fun we have as we age.

Kari, your words and scripture in this post are beautiful. You are so right…we have so much to be thankful for. Your table dressed for Thanksgiving is elegant with the neutral color palette. The Carmel colored napkins add such a nice pop of color and the sea grass adds a lovely texture. I know we are both kindred spirits in our love of Valerie’s home decor items. I love the place card holders you were able to find. I have enjoyed my visit to your beautiful table. Wishing you and your family a most blessed and happy Thanksgiving.
Kari says
Shannon I believe I am in my neutral phase of life but not to worry as I am sure I will come back with bright colors for Christmas. Hugs and Blessings.

You are too kind Sandy…thanks for the lovely card. Hugs to you and Ron.

Kari, the soft neutrals on your table are just beautiful. The napkins and rings are the right choice in my opinion. Finding those matching pumpkin name card holders were such a bonus. The addition of the two rust tapers take up the color scheme another notch. Using the scripted pumpkins provide reminders to all. I’m thankful for bloggers like yourself who share their talents and provide so much wonderful inspiration.
Kari says
Thanks Jan for your kind comments. Sorry I am late in responding but the Captain and I were on a cruise and I am slow anyway but that really slowed me down. I had to work to find the Jayhawks on the ship’s tv. LOL
Marsha says
Kari, I love how you walked us through your choices for your Grateful Thanksgiving tablescape. Your choice of all the neutrals and natural elements were a perfect choice for a calm and peaceful holiday tablescape. Your little pumpkins with grateful words are such a lovely reminder detail. One word can remind everyone what this holiday should mean. I am so glad to see your use of fruit, like pears and nuts to embellish your table. And the mix of natural elements, rattan and classic form dinnerware makes to an unexpected contrast that makes a beautiful, attention-getting table. I love the hat idea of being unpredictable. Surely, it would be a guest who dropped in for dinner and enjoyed this stunning tablescape. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with family and friends.
Kari says
Thank you Marsha….you are too kind. I have learned to take my time with setting a table these days and I find that it comes together just a little bit better when one is not rushed. I’m sure you know what I mean. The same with Christmas…too much hustle and bustle and not enough reflect and direct to the things that really matter. Have a Happy Thanksgiving and stay warm.

Beautiful Kari, the words and the table setting. Lots of love from Ireland x x x x
Kari says
Thanks Mags….hope and pray that you and Philip are doing ok. The weather here in Florida is a bit cool this morning (60-ish F.), so it makes the thoughts of Autumn come to mind. I see your weather in Ireland is sunny spells with a few showers, with temperatures of 10 to 12 C. Stay warm and dry. Hugs from across the pond and so sweet of you to stop by.

Kari, I am so thankful for God’s rich mercy and grace. Yes, the world is upside down, but we know the One who is control!
Your Thanksgiving tablescape offering is beautiful. The caramel-colored plaid napkins are striking on your more neutral table. I love the pumpkins with the lovely script words of thankful, grateful, and blessed which became your title. Your play of textures with the neutrals is so pleasing to the eye. The playful use of the fedora made me smile. Wishing you a blessed Thanksgiving season my friend!
Kari says
Thanks Pam…God is so good and we need to take it one day at a time. As Jesus said in the Sermon on the Mount….”Do Not worry about tomorrow because tomorrow will take care of itself.” Hugs and happiness this Thanksgiving Season.
