October’s Bits & Bobs Box!
How perfect the last two days have been here in SW Florida. No humidity to speak of and a nice breeze that makes one think of Fall.
It seems the Captain and I had scheduled routine doctor’s appointments all on this day in October….so we were able to get those appointments taken care of as well as do the early voting. Be sure to vote ya’ll !!
Early this morning, I had put a chuck roast in the crock pot along with potatoes, onions and carrots as I knew it would be a busy day. It always makes the house smell so good. I was glad all I had to do when we returned home was put the biscuits in the oven. (No, I did not make from scratch! LOL)
We have a Farmer Joes here in the Cape and their produce is so fresh and good. I am sure it has to do with the fact that they buy from local farmers.
They have been celebrating Fall Fest.
I don’t know this little guy but I thought he was adorable posing among Farmer Joes’ pumpkins.🥰
We stopped there on our way home …of course I bought a few??? things as we sipped on specialty coffees.
It really felt like Fall…. cooler weather plus seeing all the Autumn colors.☕️
The Captain went flying this week…and I picked him up in Venice (in Florida) one evening and we went to a late dinner at a local steak house. I seem to order the same thing….Bone in Ribeye Steak…So good! I figure if it ain’t broke…don’t fix it. I will admit if I find a good entree, I always order it, so I usually know what I’m having at the various restaurants we frequent. Do you experiment or stick with the same thing?🥩
Also this week, I was in Sports Heaven! As most of you know we are big sports fans of our Kansas teams. The Kansas City Chiefs won their 5th straight win, remaining unbeaten so far this season. Of course that can change on any given Sunday…🏈

And the Kansas University College basketball team won their exhibition opener game. Rock Chalk Jayhawk! We have high hopes with this young team. But like football, anything can happen.🏀
October also brings Octoberfest and here in the Cape, they really celebrate….and have been for over 40 years.🥨
I am always reading and I have to recommend this book…it is by Charles Swindoll, “Awakened By Grace“. In this book, “Swindoll shares for the first time the story of how God grew a small, insecure boy into a man who delights in speaking grace and truth to millions. This book celebrates God’s presence in each of our lives as we journey with Swindoll through: 1. A childhood spent in the shadow of World War II, and with feelings of being unwanted. 2. Meeting the drama teacher who helped him find his voice and the sixteen-year-old girl whom he’s still married to after seven decades. 3. A season with the Marine Corps that strengthened his leadership gifts and his faith. 4. The sermon that led to the building of a worldwide ministry. 5. The joys and challenges of grounding his public life in private faithfulness,; Including wisdom gleaned from over sixty years in ministry, words he would like to speak to his younger self, and encouragement for anyone going through tough times, Swindoll reminds us that God is at work in ordinary lives, shaping us for His glory before we even recognize His hand.”
One of our dear friends had a birthday, so the family had a surprise Birthday Dinner which is always fun.🎂. No gifts, but we all had a good time!
Above is our Autumn entry…I’m still working on it…not sure if I am leaving the bright orange and white under rug…Last year I used a black and white under rug. I think I liked it better….but I know I like the comment “Hey there pumpkin”…just like the “Hello” on the door, I feel they are both welcoming which is the vibe the Captain and I want to give to each of our visitors.
Have a Blessed and wonderful week.

Luke 10:2 “….“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
