Welcome to We Never Tire of the Beauty of “Old Glory”!
I have put together a few of my past tables to hopefully give you inspiration.
I love to decorate for the picnics and gatherings for Flag Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day.
It is just patriotic and the thing to do.
The table below includes vintage dishes that were from the Centennial and feature various historical buildings.
You can see the original post here.
The next table was a bit more casual using the red, white and blue plaid table cloth and napkins.
I like using different items around the house for vases such as the blue striped pitcher above and the clear blue vessel below.
Below was an alfresco in the Secret Garden.
Even Jesse James gets into the celebration.
Picnics at a park are always fun and the next three photos below are a picnic for two that the Captain and I put together.
You can see the original post here.
Over the years I have collected unique napkin rings and I have used the bicycle napkin rings below in several table settings.
Another unique flatware holder is another favorite way to keep flatware in place.
And yes, the bicycle plates table setting did use those bicycle napkin rings from above.
You can see that setting here.
The next 3 photos show another alfresco picnic in our front yard, using a very short fold up table.
Note we sat on pillows on the ground although these days, I’m not sure I would be able to jump right up! LOL
Old Glory is present not only with small flags but Old Glory flies (with a spotlight) in front of our home daily.
For the below tablescape, I used historic looking documents and other items to replicate that time period.
The next 5 photos show the red, white and blue cake that was simply delicious to look at and to eat.
I hope you enjoyed We Never Tire of the Beauty of Old Glory through a few of my past tablescapes.
Enjoy your 4th of July and be safe.
Blessings Always…
“For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.”

Dear Kari,
Sorry to be so late, but I’ve been sick. I love all your old glory settings. When I drive around, I look for flags in all the yards. I’m proud to be an American and everyone should be.
Hugs,
Sandy

Oh Sandy so sorry to hear you have not been well…I hope you are feeling better now.
Yes, the sad thing is our young are not being taught about our history and country and don’t seem to have an appreciation for our freedoms and how we achieved this status. Take care my friend

Three cheers for the Red, White and Blue Kari…love your round up with Old Glory! Your Uncle Sam nutcracker is so festive with his stars and stripes and Jesse James is adorable. His cut is so cute and I love those pink ears! Your cake looks delicious too. Wishing you a Happy Fourth, Long May She Wave!

Thank you for stopping by Mary and for your kind comments! God Bless the USA!

Oh, Kari, I had so much fun checking out your past patriotic tables whether they were in a park, your front yard or in your Secret Garden. I love all the red, white, and blue inspiration. My favorites were the blue flatware holders, the blue enamel plate, and the cute bicycle plates. Boy did that one bring back memories of our children decorating their bikes and proudly riding them in the neighborhood parade. With the elementary school a block away lots of children participated along with their pets all decked out like your Jesse James.

Thank you Jan for stopping by and yes I’m sure that dates me as we did put cards on our bike wheels. I also like that families got together and had pot lucks and home made ice cream and cake and now most family members are spread out or many are gone. Guess I really am old. LOL Happy Summer my friend and those Jayhawks are looking like they may have it together this year.

I love all your Americana, Kari, and no, we never tire of the beauty of Old Glory and the freedoms for which it stands (one nation, under God!). A friend who came here from Russia and lives in CA just posted this in thanks for her birthday greetings on FB yesterday: “I’m set on fighting for defending democracy, freedom and justice. I believe that’s what America stands for, and that’s why I live in this wonderful country — a land of the free in a world with declining freedom.” May we all continue fighting for our freedoms!
Kari says
Rita I love your friend from Russia’s comment and God Bless her…and happy belated birthday to her. She, and others like her are always welcome in our country, as were our ancestors. However, they must come in the right way, and be vetted, and when they apply for citizenship….be as proud of America as we are. God Bless America and all those who fight for our freedom.

Thanks Jenna for stopping by and for your kind comments. When I look back at old table settings from 10 years or so ago, I remember many items I have stashed in tubs or cabinets, they are like old “friends”. LOL I would love to lay claim to the cake but it is one I special ordered and believe it or not it weighed 7 pounds! But oh so good!
